The Dentist

On Friday, it was Muffti Day and Mission Day.
At the end of school, we had the Mission Day fun to raise money for the Sisters of the Missions and the sick people who don't have any money. We had to put the rest of our money on the courts because the House that got the longest line would get to wear mufti next Friday.
I had to leave early because I had a dentist appointment. My mum left my brother and sister at school because my brother and sister would fight at the dentist. My mum picked them up after the scary part - the injection was like a cat scratch, then she came back, but my brother and sister wanted to play on the playground.
After the dentist, my lip felt numb and now I have a pink tooth. It's my favourite colour.

Tabloid Sports

We went to Athletics Day. It was fun.
At the last activity of the Sponges, we did under and over, and I got wet a couple of times as well. We all had fun with the sponges because it was a very, very hot day. It was refreshing as well. I really had fun with the sponges.  We had to move onto the next activity so we did move on to the next activity.
The next activity was called Tug of War. It was fun because we always won. We had to pull hard.  It was lots of fun at Tug of War. We had to try and pull the other kids on the other side because if we didn't pull hard, we'd lose Tug of War, but we didn't lose. The other team did. We won. It was fun at Tug of War.
It was fun. I had a good day.

Pet Day

It was Pet Day at school.
On Pet Day, animals came to the hall in cages. We watched them. Some of them were quiet, some were noisy. When we walked outside, we got in a big circle on the courts and sat down.

When the pets arrived, we saw small fluffy bunnies, cute possums and spray-painted chickens. They had crusty feathers. We saw blue, red, yellow and green birds and scared cats. The fishes were orangey and a goldy colour. They were so skinny that we could hardly see them through the see-through plastic container. The possum kept crawling on the cage with its four feet. It was so cute.
Next, there were dogs. They ran fast like a cheetah. All the dogs were so cute. They were walking in circles so we could see them. Some of us patted them. They felt soft and fluffy. We saw dog tricks.
I was excited to see all of the pets. I had a great time at Pet Day. It was fun too.

Athletics Day

When I was nine years old, our school had an Athletics Day. We all competed in lots of events, like High Jump, Long Jump, Vortex, Shot Put, Discus and Sprints.
After we walked around the field, we went to discus. The discus was black as a cat. It was hard. It was light and rubbery. I put my arm out in front of me and threw the discus. Even though if I didn't get first, I tried my best.
Next, we ran to high jump. It had a blue mat steel pole and a plastic pole as well. I jumped as high as I could and I made it, but, when it was the last jump, I knocked the pole over. I came third. I felt really good about myself.

Finally, we went to long jump. It had yellow sand. The sand was as soft as silk. The mat was colourful blue, red and green. The grass was as soft as a pillow and it was fresh too. I got in a line. When it was my turn, I ran and jumped into the sand. I did a big jump.
It was a fun day, but I was very tired when I got home from
school that afternoon.

King Arthur's Castle

Mrs Death read us the story of King Arthur, then we used three different pieces of paper and combined them to show what his castle looked like.

New Zealand's Olympic Legends

The Big Race

During the Olympics, I watched Nathan Cohen and Joseph Sullivan. They raced in the Olympic rowing race in 2012.
The water was cold and crystal clear.
The siren whistled and the rowers were off. Their knees went up and down in the race and their bottoms were sliding back and forth. The oars were black, long, straight and shiny.
The rowers all wanted to win the gold medal but the New Zealanders won the gold medal. They came 1st in the race.
The crowd was cheering.
